Barhal Church, a significant monument in Artvin Yusufeli, is being renovated by the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and Eti Bakır A.Ş.
The building, originally a monastery, is located 12 kilometers northwest of Barhal (Altıparmak) Village. Only the church has survived until today. It is estimated that the monastery was built in the name of John the Baptist in the 10th century by Bağrat II. Eti Bakır A.Ş. committed to renovate this historical monument in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. The renovation will be fully financed by Eti Bakır A.Ş. and cost TL 4.5 million.
