Oymapınar Hydroelectric Power Plant Operations
540 MW Oymapınar Hydroelectric Power Plant at Antalya Manavgat operating under Eti Alüminyum A.Ş. has an annual power generation capacity of 1,620,000,000 Kwh. Hydraulic and electric control systems of Oymapınar was modernized with an investment of USD 14.6 million and power generation was increased by 5 percent.
Eti Bakır A.Ş. Murgul Hydroelectric Power Plant
Modernization, capacity increase and reserve discovery efforts are in progress at Eti Bakır A.Ş. Murgul Plant which was acquired by Cengiz Holding in 2006. The power plant with an installed capacity of 25 MW continues to generate energy as permitted by the Hydroelectric Power Plant Production License.
Cengiz Enerji provides technical, sales and marketing consultancy services for Eti Alüminyum A.Ş. Oymapınar Plant and Eti Bakır A.Ş. Murgul Plant.
KALEHAN Enerji Üretim ve Ticaret A.Ş., owned by Cengiz İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and Özaltın İnşaat Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. with 50% shares, was incorporated on 25.07.2007 for building and operating Beyhan-1 and Beyhan-2 Dams and HPP in Palu district of Elazığ, Yukarı Kaleköy Dam and HPP in Solhan district of Bingöl, Aşağı Kaleköy Dam and HPP in Genç district of Bingöl and Gözeler Regulator and HPP with a planned installed capacity of 1,929.7 MWe.
Kalehan Enerji, a Cengiz Holding subsidiary, will build 5 hydroelectric power plants on the Murat River with a total capacity of 2073 MW and total investment will reach USD 2.5 billion. The first phase of the project and also the first leg of Turkey’s biggest private sector hydroelectric power plant, Beyhan 1, was completed in the record time of 48 months.
The “Environmental Impact Assessment Reports” were issued by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning with the number 1824 on 31.12.2009 for Beyhan-1 and Beyhan-2 Dams and HPPs, with the number 2104 on 07.02.2011 for Yukarı and Aşağı Kaleköy Dams and HPPs and with the number 2745 on 07.11.2012 for Gözeler Regulator and HPP.
The “Production Licenses” were issued by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority with the number EÜ/1301-3/936 on 06.09.2007 for Beyhan-1 Dam and HPP Project, with the number EÜ/3308-19/2120 on 06.07.2011 for Beyhan-2 Dam and HPP Project, with the number EÜ/1301-4/937 on 06.09.2007 for Yukarı Kaleköy Dam and HPP Project, with the number EÜ/3308-18/2108 dated 06.07.2011 for Aşağı Kaleköy Dam and HPP Project, and with the number EÜ/3308-18/2480 on 06.07.2011 for Gözeler Regulator and HPP Project.
Annual production capacity is 1,294,348 MWh for Beyhan-1 Dam and HPP Project, 551,000 MWh for Beyhan-2 Dam and HPP Project, 1,417,000 MWh for Yukarı Kaleköy Dam and HPP Project, 1,039,000 MWh for Aşağı Kaleköy Dam and HPP Project, and 265,000 MWh for Gözeler Regulator and HPP Project.
Beyhan-1 Dam and HPE is scheduled for operation in 2014. With the completion of all these projects, Turkey’s economy will benefit from safe, clean and renewable energy.
